The lure of blood bowl + the power of GHAG!

How great is blood bowl? Why not ask hakomike?  Winner of the best painted prize from our GHAG competition with his excellent "diving catch/karate chop" goblin (click here - #7)

Just the thought of the old school dwarf team prize motivated him to make a pitch (to match the skaven team he had laying around) and get started on getting two teams painted - he has no opponents but at least he has a team for them to use when he does rope some buddies in!!  He has mentioned getting his butt whooped on FUMBBL. :)

Here are some wip pics he sent over - first up the skaven pitch!

pitch WIP 2
Here's his first slayer conversion to go with the dungeonbowl dwarves.
yaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!!!!

He's back to posting on his blog - with the first dungeonbowl dwarf painted.  Can't believe he'd call any of that paint job clumsy - looks golden daemon to me!!  Love the little photoshopping he's done too.

Well done Mike - welcome to blood bowl!!

Looking good!

Last year I made myself a Blood Bowl 7s pitch, using sand as the base.

I really came to regret that actually, as it was highly abrasive and even being careful with figures when I laid them down and flipped them after being stunned, the paint jobs really got hammered. Next time I'll do the whole thing in flock so my minis stay safe.

Thanks for the shout-out! I've been having a ton of fun with this.

Paul, that's exactly what I have been afraid of... especially when laying models down is a game mechanic. To try and alleviate it I have put multiple coats of Minwax Polycrylic gloss finish to basically smooth everything out. I've done two coats and it's noticeably smoother without losing the bumpy texture. Between that and a good string protective coat on the minis I'm hoping I'll be okay.

Well I hope that does the trick mate! Looking forward to seeing it finished :-)
